It is part of the Asian Highway route from Thailand to the Union of Myanmar, as well as to South Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. **For border crossing - Thai tourists and residents of Mae Sot District can travel or drive across by obtaining a temporary border pass at the Mae Sot Immigration Checkpoint. A fee is charged on both the Thai and Myanmar sides, along with a vehicle insurance fee as specified. You can inquire for information before traveling at the Mae Sot District Immigration Checkpoint, Tel. +66 5556 3002, +66 5556 300. It is advisable to inquire about details at the Mae Sot District Immigration Checkpoint before traveling, as regulations may change. - Foreign tourists must present their passports at the Thai Immigration Checkpoint for an exit stamp at no charge.
